In 1984, Union Carbide’s pesticide plant exploded, engulfing two-thirds of the city of Bhopal, India, in a poisonous cloud. By the end of the night, the death toll was 2,600... by the end of the week, 6,000. To date 20,000 people have died with the death toll still rising. Bhopal is a play that goes beyond an examination of the human cost of an industrial disaster to become a celebration of the struggle to survive with dignity
